ABOUT US

Weston County Senior Services (WCSS) is a non-profit corporation, established to serve the folks county-wide.

In 1973, Mr. & Mrs. Roscoe Michaels donated the property that would become the Michaels Senior Citizens Center, located on Main Street in downtown Newcastle.

In 2003 the center was moved from that location into the former grade school building at 627 Pine Street, which was deeded to WCSS by the City of Newcastle.

Weston County is located in the northeast quadrant of Wyoming, with Newcastle as the county seat; U.S. Highways 16 & 85 intersect here and being only 9 miles from South Dakota, we are officially the "Western Gateway to the Black Hills",on both routes.

Weston County has a population of about 7000; roughly 20% are senior citizens. The county has three distinct communities; Newcastle, Osage, and Upton.

Since 1973 till the present, the Weston County Senior Citizens Center continues to serve as an active partner in the daily lives of our residents.
